Police arrest four suspected kidnappers, sodomist in Oyo State

The Oyo State Police Command on Thursday disclosed that it has arrested four suspected kidnappers terrorizing Ibarapa axis of the state, as well as a sodomist and thirty robbery suspects, as well as bank fraudster

Penpushing reports that the Commissioner of Police, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko while parading the suspects at the command headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan said that the alleged kidnappers were responsible for strings of armed robbery and kidnapping in some parts of Ibarapa in recent times.

The Commissioner gave identities of the kidnappers as include  Abubakar Rico, Samuel Oga, Christian Abunka and Sheu Babangida, adding that the suspects confessed to be involved in the crime and their confessional statement is helping to immediately arrest other syndicate members still at large.”

Penpushing further reports that, Onadeko said recovered from the suspects are two Bajaj motorcycle with registration number GBE 035 UX and FST 651 QC, five empty cartridges, 13 cutlasses, one hammer, six syringes abs 54 cows among others.

The police boss said the gang had kidnapped one Jamiu Rasaq at his Ojamgbe village farm at about 11:00 am on Monday, adding that the victim was later rescued three days after by police with support from local vigilantes and hunters.

‘Rico was spotted in the community yesterday while on a mission to purchase food items for his gang members. He was promptly apprehended by members of the community and handed over to the police’, she said.

Penpushing also reports that, in a similar vein, a 30-year old class teacher, Ebenezer Olawuyi was paraded for repeatedly having carnal knowledge of a 12-year old male pupil. Olawuyi, and has since confessed to the offence, claiming that he was influenced by pornography movies.

Meanwhile, the police commissioner at the press briefing denied the report that passengers of an 18-seater bus were kidnapped along Igbo-Ora-Eruwa road on Wednesday, adding that investigation is still on going on the unfounded story.
