Plateau crisis: Female protesters raze District Head’s house over arrest of youth by military

A group of protesters comprising women in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Friday, razed the home of the District Head of Bokkos, Monday Adanchin, to demand the release of some youth arrested in connection with the killing of a Fulani man in Bokkos on Thursday

Penpushing reports that a resident who prefer anonymity said a Fulani was killed in New Layout, Bokkos, and as a result some youths were arrested by soldiers and taken to Jos, explaining that the development led to the protest by the women who claimed that those arrested did not commit the crime

‘A Fulani was killed yesterday in New Layout, Bokkos. As a result, some youth in the area were arrested by soldiers and taken to Jos. These women want immediate release of the arrested youth as the youth were not the ones that committed the crime according to the women’

Penpushing further reports that Random in an interview said he was going to Bokkos to confirm the development, and gave assurance to get back, but as at the time of filing this report he was yet to give feedback.

The Divisional Police Officer in Bokkos, Agu Oliver, as at the time of this report was yet to confirm nor deny the development, but rather referred reaction to the Plateau State Police Command Public Relations Officer Alfred Alabo, who was also yet to make any official statement over the incident

Penpushing also reports that Bokkos is one of three local government arears of Plateau State that suffered bloody attacks that left more than 100 people dead on Christmas Eve, while the attacks carried out almost simultaneously affected more than 19 communities across Bokkos, Mangu and Barkin Ladi council areas
