Peoples Democratic Party loses all lawmakers to all progressives congress in Ogun State

The troubled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State Chapters has lost it eight lawmakers in the State Assembly to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), defection the opposition party described as betrayal of trust on part of defectors.

Penpushing reports that it would be recalled that that two of the lawmakers which include Atobatele Lukmon, representing Abeokuta South I, and Rasheed Kashamu, son of the late Buruji Kashamu and member representing Ijebu North I Constituency, had earlier defected to the ruling party last year.

The assembly sources disclosed that the latest defectors are Lukman Adeleye, Minority Leader and member representing Odogbolu State Constituency; Bello Damilare (Sagamu Constituency I); Lawal Samsideen (Ogun Waterside); Oluseun Samuel (Ijebu North East); Owode Waliu (Ijebu East); and Dickson Kolawole (Remo North).

Penpushing further reports that the defectors justified their decision explaining that leadership crisis within the troubled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pave way for them to leave and joined the ruling party

The Ogun State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sunday Solarin reacting to the development described the defectors as betrayal, having failed to resign their seats from the Assembly, arguing that they were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Penpushing also reports that Solarin pointed out that with their actions they have shifted their loyalty and betrayed the party that brought them to office, stressing and epressing optimism that that those committed to the party will remain.
