Penpushing member, Remmy Hazzan gives befitting burial to mother

The remains of Mama Rachael Hazzan, mother of a prominent member of Penpushing platform, Hon Remmy Hazzan were on Saturday, August 2, 2025 committed to mother earth in Omu-Ijebu town of Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that the final journey of the 79-year-old woman started on Thursday with a service of songs conducted by Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Revival Centre held in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The service of songs programme includes opening prayer, praise and worship, hymns, Bible reading, testimonies about the deceased, choir ministration, short message, prayer for the family and benediction.

Penpushing further reports that the train of the burial on Saturday moved to her husband residence located at number 87, new road in Omu-Ijebu in continuation of the final journey, while the remains were thereafter interred at her private residence built by her children in Irete, Omu-Ijebu.

The ceremony was thereafter moved to Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE) playing ground, where guests were entertained to various delicious meal and drinks under a million-naira worth marque events hall.

Penpushing also reports the ancient town recorded huge presence of guests who came from various destinations within and outside Nigeria to give the mother of the member anniversary planning committee of Penpushing Media last honour.

The Chairperson Penpushing Media Anniversary Committee, Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi led members of the platform to the burial ceremony, to join Hazzan in giving her mother a befitting final farewell.

Penpushing reports that it will be recalled that the bereaved son, who is a clergyman and fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) had earlier confirmed the demise of her mother explaining that she died peacefully in her sleep on April 27, 2025 in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The deceased from Igbara Odo-Ekiti was born on June 20, 1946, married to late Alhaji (Chief) S.K Hassan from Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State and survived by four children including Mrs Adetoun Faseyitan, Rt Hon Remmy Hazzan, Engr Bashir Hassan and Mr Bayo Hassan
