Penpushing member, Muyiwa Adejobi bags Inspector General of Police Special Recognition Award

A prominent member of Penpushing platform, Muyiwa Adejobi who is the Force Public Relations Officer has been conferred with 2024 Inspector General of Police Special recognition award.

Penpushing reports that the award ceremony held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory(FCT) was the initiative of the office of the Inspector General of Police in collaboration with Lenders Consult International.

The President, Bola Tinubu who was the Speaker Guest at the ceremony, was represented by Senate President Godwill Akpabio who presented the award to Adejobi at event witnessed by number of dignitaries, which include five former Inspectors General of Police.

Penpushing further reports that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun explained that the event was aimed at recognizing and rewarding exceptional acts of bravery, professionalism, integrity, and service excellence across the force,adding that it forms part of a broader policy thrust to enhance personnel motivation, welfare, and operational efficiency.

The number one police officer in the country, speaking at the second edition of the awards. however, reaffirmed commitment to improved working conditions of the officers, assuring them that dedication and excellence will always be recognized and rewarded.

Penpushing also reports that Egbetokun said the award selection process has been rigorous and transparent, explaining that nominations were submitted from all formations of the Force, including Force Headquarters, Zonal Commands, State Commands, Area and Divisional Headquarters.

The police boss added that a dedicated collation committee comprising senior police officers and a representative of Lenders Consult International, renowned for organizing credible and transparent awards, reviewed the submissions.

Penpushing reports that he stated that the final selection was made by the Force Management Team under his leadership following extensive deliberations,stressing that this thorough process ensured credibility, transparency, and shielded the awards from undue influence.

The awards fearured various categories including Crime Buster of the Year, Community Policing Advocate of the Year, Detective of the Year, Police Sports Person of the Year, Divisional Police Officer of the Year, Area Commander of the Year, Patrol Team of the Year, Traffic Officer of the Year, Awards for Gallantry and Integrity, and the prestigious Police Officer of the Year.

Penpushing further reports that other categories were given to honour officers who have distinguished themselves in specialized fields such as Public Relations, Legal Practice, and Medical Services.
