Penpushing member, Iyalode Lawson records another feat, bags award of excellence from Ikeja club
The Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyaloide Alaba Lawson has recorded another feat to her growing fame, as the famous Ikeja Club of Lagos, Nigeria, on Friday bestowed an award of Excellence on her, in view of her generosity towards betterment of the society.
Penpushing reports that, the ceremony was held at the club house in Lagos State, with number of dignitaries which include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in attendance, who was also inducted as member of the club.
The ceremony also attracted guests from all parts of the country, as well as others who came from outside Nigeria, to be part of the epoch ceremony which was in commemoration with the club 55th anniversary.
Penpushing further reports that the first female Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu who was a Special Guest of honour at the colourful occasion, was also bestowed with award of excellence
The Iyalode of Yorubaland, who is also a notable member and stakeholder on Penpushing platform was accompanied to the venue, with number of various women organizations, to be part of the memorable ceremony.
Penpushing also reports that, Lawson while responding, expressed appreciation to the club for considering her for the award of excellence, adding that, the award will again serve as a push for her to continue doing what is best for the country and society at large.
The Iyalode, who was royal mother of the day at the ceremony, applauded the club for the good work known for, and encouraged members to continue their known social responsibilities, also called on other clubs to emulate Ikeja club in adding value to the society
