Penpushing member, Falilat Ogunkoya-Omotayo loses coach

A member of Penpushing platform and word athlete record holder, Falilati Ogunkoya-Omotayo has lost her coach, John Afuwape who discovered her in exhibiting her skills to the world map in the sports arena..

Penpushing reports that, Ogunkoya-Omotayo who confirmed the death, said the renowned athletic coach died after a brief illness in his Abeokuta home, Ogun State Capital on Friday, lamenting over the loss.

The former track and field queen  said she has known the deceased over thirty years, describing him as a good man, who is caring and loving, recalling that  she discovered the talent in her, and ensured that she(Ogunkoya-Omotayo) was part of Ogun State team to 1985 Kwara State Sports Festival

‘I have known him since the last 30 years and his death is really a sad development. He was a good man, loving and kind. I pray God gives his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss’, Ogunkoya-Omotayo emphasized.

Penpushing also reports that, as at the time of filing this report, the cause of death could not be ascertained, while arrangements were ongoing by the family, and members of the sporting family in the state towards his burial.
