Penpushing Media receives accolades for effective global coverage of Lai Oso’s burial

The Management and Editorial Board of Penpushing Media, owners of online newspaper and television which membership cut across the world on Friday received accolades and commendation for effective coverage of the burial of the late journalism icon, Pro Lai Oso.

Penpushing reports that the commendation came from the guests and family members of the deceased at the final burial ceremony tagged, ’Celebration of Life: Pro Lai Oso”, held at Remo Traditional Council Hall, Akarigbo Palace Sagamu town of Ogun State

The burial activities organized by Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) in collaboration with old students in the masscommunication department of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta and other professional bodies attracted dignitaries across the world to give last respect to the deceased.

Penpushing further reports that the organisers while acknowledging the professionalism of the media establishment, for effective coverage in beaming the events live for three days, excited hundreds of guests at the ceremony in a thunderous applause to appreciate the media team.

The media team was on ground for live broadcast of the events which include a day of tributes held at Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Christian Wake-Keep at the Mercy Hall, Sagamu and Funeral Service at Remo Traditional Council Hal, Sagamu

Penpushing also reports that numbers of associates, former students, professional colleagues of the deceased and host of friends in diaspora were glued to the website of the media organization for the broadcast coverage.

The diasporans who monitored the broadcast equally commended Penpushing Media, adding that the organization assisted them in not missing out the activities of the burial of the journalism teacher, academic and journalism icon.

Penpushing reports that General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Achudume, accompanied by his wife, retinue of clerics from the church, could not hold back his appreciation for the 5-year-old media outfit.

Penpushing further reports that in similar vein, a veteran journalist and former Editor of Punch Newspapers, Alhaji Nojeem, gave kudos to the media organization, stressing that it has changed phase of journalism by adding value to the profession in the online industry

The General Overseer of the Victory Life Bible Church {VLBC) in his sermon, ‘What Will You be Remembered For”, pointed out that the erudite scholar did not only impact his world of academy which has taken him through many institutions of journalism in Nigeria and abroad, but has also impacted lives of hitherto hopeless students, drop outs and indeed widows in the church where he worships

Penpushing also reports that the clergyman used the deceased life in charging congregants  to serve humanity  the way he(Oso) served, whose death, he said was avoidable if there are good and motorable roads in the country.

The cleric reading from Nehemiah 13: 14 in the Bible enjoined those in power of authority to serve well, impact life the way and manner of the late academic did, stressing that he lived his life for many people, noting that he had opportunity   to make money, but allowed self-contentment to be his watchword

Penpushing reports that Achudume emphasized that Oso will be long remembered for living for others, giving all he has to make students, friends, widows and all those who came across him, adding that he exhibited humility

‘For the immediate family of the late erudite scholar, his sudden and painful passage, nothwithstanding his indelible contributions and mark in the field of communication will for long remain a pacesetter difficult to be matched’’, he said

‘Oso was there for all day and night. For me, it is understatement to say that, he lived, breathed and bequeathed an impactful journalism development life which transcend to the facets of humanity. Adieu, great teacher of teachers’, Achudume stated
