Penpushing media founder becomes ambassador
The founder of the household name and vibrant media organization, Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji has been decorated as Ambassador of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)
Penpushing reports that the decoration was held at the American Corner office, located in Ikeja, Lagos State, at the workshop organized by United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in collaboration with Media Awareness and Information for All Network (MAIN)
The 2-Day training workshop was designed for journalists from different organizations, drawn from electronic, print and online to broaden their knowledge on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) reportage.
Penpushing further reports that, in response to his decoration as an ambassador, Kayode-Adedeji said this has further encouraged him to contribute his quota positively to propagate Sustainable Development Goals(SDG’s) across the globe
The ambassador added that, the training was an added value to his journalism career, and encouraged participants to contribute meaningful towards the 17 goals of the development in the interest of the entire world
Penpushing also reports that, he charged journalists to see the training as vital challenge not to sit on the fence, and always exhibit their professional skills on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) reportage
The intensive and in depth training, which is also to develop a network of sustainable development journalists, equally has activities which include house-keeping and participants expectations, about the training and objectives, as well as to know what exactly sustainable development is all about, implementing agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s in Nigeria.
Penpushing reports that other activities are: Gender equality and sustainable development goals, sustainability story proposal (group session), presentation of guidelines and formation of groups, presentation and discussion of sustainability story pitch/proposal by participants, introducing the Nigeria network of sustainable development journalists
The session objectives acquainted participants with identities of resource persons and dignitaries, stated the background to the training and the learning objectives, documented the training and participants in attendance, deepened participants knowledge of agenda 2030 for sustainable development, capacitated participants with knowledge of gender dimension to sustainable development.
Penpushing further reports that, at the training, each group presented a proposal for a story on any dimension of sustainability, which was followed with formation of Nigeria Network of Sustainable Development Journalists.
