Pastor marries late wife’s personal assistant 4 months after demise
A General Overseer of a Pentecostal Church located in Ikeja axis of Lagos State (names withheld) has allegedly married the personal assistant of his wife barely four months after the death of the woman.
Penpushing reports that the 59 year-old woman, a mother of four boys died on October 23, 2025, in a London hospital after an unexplained protracted ailment and subsequently buried on November 28, 2026 in United Kingdom.
The widower pastor to the amazement of the deceased family and some church members on Sunday February 15, 2026 took the late wife’s personal assistant to the altar for marriage which was conducted for them in Ikeja area of Lagos, a ceremony witnessed by a number of guests and church members.
Penpushing further reports that when the clergyman was contacted through his mobile phone to hear his own side of the story , he ignored the message of enquiry sent to him, as well as refused to pick up repeated phone calls put across to him
The development is said to be shocking to family members, particularly the mother of the deceased who is said to be experiencing sleepless nights, as she couldn’t comprehend the situation compounded with loss of her daughter and eldest child.
Penpushing also reports that the action of the pastor has become a talk of the town, while some church members described the development and sudden marriage of the cleric to the new wife as unbelievable within four months of the death of the wife
