Parents coalition to address press conference over arrest of university undergraduates by crimes commission

A Group called Parents Coalition will on Friday addressed a world press conference to address alleged invasion of campus of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife by the officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC) and subsequent arrest of number of students.

Penpushing reports that conveners of the coalition Yinka Jinadu and Dotun Adebowale said the arrest of the students and publication of their names in the media as suspects was a wrong step explaining that the press conference is aimed to put the record straight.

‘This press conference will be invaluable in bringing the truth on this critical issue to public knowledge and ensuring that the truth reaches a wider audience. It is our desire that this press conference will provide an opportunity for the affected students, their families, and concerned stakeholders to address the media and present their side of the story’.

Penpushing further reports that the coalition which tagged the proposed press conference as Parents’ Coalition against the Invasion of O.A.U. Students’ Hostels by the EFCC, said the body will also provide legal experts and representatives from relevant student organizations who will share their perspectives and insights on the matter.

Meanwhile, the conveners disclosed that the press conference is scheduled to hold on November 10, 2023 by 12pm at 14, Lanre Awolokun Street, Gbagada, Phase 11, Gbagada, Lagos State
