OYO POLICE PARADES 10 SUSPECTED SIM CARD/BANK ACCOUNT FRAUDSTERS
The police boss said that the suspects in Sim swapping/Bank criminal had cultivated the habit of randomly guessing people’s contacts and tricking to get their personal data and details for the fraudulent act.
Penpushing further reports that, Olukolu pointed out that by getting the phone numbers of people and calling them, the phone of victims goes blank and debit alert will starts entering in from the victims bank and pictures and data of the victim will be unsaved.
At the parade, one of the suspects Fatai Temitope, (21) who claimed to be a worker of a cyber cafe in Ijebu -Ode explained that he was innocently sent by his boss Oluwaseun Kareem to swear a fake affidavit and national identity cards placed with different names and pictures delivered to Abiola Onasile who is an agent of Airtel who was arrested alongside him.
The Commissioner however appealed to the entire citizenry of Oyo State to corroborate and support the police with adequate, accurate and timely information so as to ease their functions of maintaining peace and order, protecting lives and property and others as enshrined in Section 4 of the Police Act.
“I want to assure the good people of Oyo State that the command is ready to do more by carrying out its core mandate as enshrined in Section 4 of the police Act to prevent and detect crime, to apprehend offenders, to preserve law and order, to protect lives and properties and due enforcement of all laws and regulations through intelligence led policing and public partnership.”
Penpushing also reports that, the Commissioner,however, wishes all Christians faithful across Oyo State a prosperous Easter Celebration and advised them to be security conscious, and keep their environment safe of criminally minded people.
