Penpushing further reports that, she explained that following   this height ,the deceased therefore decided to impact positively  on the younger generation through  educational promotion and support, emphasising that the purpose of the foundation is also to restore the diginity  of education in the 50’s

‘The Oye Ibidapo-Obe Foundation for Education Transformation was born out of his passion for education which took him to the enviable height he reached and he therefore  decided to impact positively on the younger  generation through educational promotion and support’, she stated

‘The purpose of the foundation  is to provide succour to indigent but potentially brilliant students across all the educational sectors(primary, seconday and tertiary) in Nigeria. The foundation seeks to restore the dignity of secondary school  education of the 50’s, where primary  school pupils were enthused  to go to school every day, secondary school students looked up to learning competitions, and undergraduates were anxious to finish their education and start contributing to national development’,she added

The widow  explained that her late husband was concerned that in today’s Information Technology driven world  where standards are now inevitably compared internationally, the nudity of malfunctioning education system in Nigeria  is regrettably bare, consequently exposing the fact  that Nigerian universities  are not able to compare favourably due to poor infrastructure

‘And then he worried  that to make matter worse, many homes were failing in their responsibilities, with everybody busy trying to make ends meet and failing in the primary responsibility of guiding the younger ones aright’, she noted

Penpushing further reports that, she pointed out that, the deceased concluded that the decay in the Nigerian educational system was evidenced by the dismal state of health provision, hunger, poverty, distressful level of unemployment among youths, negative productivity of the economy and fearful quantum of out of school children.

The late Professor’s wife disclosed that over the years, the foundation has set up two schools and sponsored  students to complete university education, adding that the foundation has a number of first class University of Lagos graduates

Penpushing reports that, she stated that, the foundation has began a new chapter with the Oye Ibidapo biennial symposium, the establishment of the Oye Ibidapo-Obe endowed chair in Engineering at the University of Lagos, and the annual  award for the ovrall best graduating student
