OUR 8 YEARS ADMINISTRATION HAS BEEN FAVOURABLE TO WORKERS, SAYS GOVERNOR AJIMOBI
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Otunba Moses Adeyemo emphasized that the outgoing administration has not relent in its effort to ensure the betterment of life of its workers, adding that the state government also shared in the pains the workers are going throgh.
“Our government has in many ways alleviated the suffering of its workers by introduction of different programmes such as the school feeding, N-power, giving out of housing loans to workers, health insurance policy for the workers, security, provision of free bus shuttle to workers in the state among others.
The Governor, however, urged the workers to reciprocate the good gesture the State Government had shown to them with dedication and hardworking, noting that this will complement the effort of the Government in moving the State to a greater height.
Penpushing further reports that, earlier in his address, the Oyo State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Titilola Sodo noted that the State government should fulfill the pledge to the labour union concerning the implementation of the new minimum wage.
His words,” For us to have a sustainable industrial harmony in this state, the government of the day should listen to the voice of its workers and take its welfarism serious.”
The labour leader pointed out that the implementation of the new minimum wage should not only meant for Federal Government workers, but it should cut across the board, noting that Oyo State should not be exempted in the new minimum wage for the benefit of the state workers.
Penpushing also reports that, dignitaries at the event include; Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Lekan Ali, Head of Service , Mrs Hannah Ogunesan, Government appointees, Security Chiefs in the State, Market Womenand transport union, among others.
