One fresh coronavirus case discovered in Ogun State
A fresh case of coronavirus has been discovered in Ogun State with the patient confirmed to have tested positive, and this makes it 4th victims of the ravaging disease in the state.
Penpushing reports that, he Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker made the disclosure at a press conference held on Tuesday at the Ministry conference room at Oke-Mosan, as an update on the ugly development.
The Commissioner explained that the latest victim is a 30 year old man, who had a contact with the previous victim, who is currently being quarantined at the isolation centre in Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, adding that out of recorded four cases discovered in the state, two have been discharged having responded to treatment
Penpushing further reports that, Coker said as at the time of filing this report, the government is following 72 cases adding that, investigation conducted so far had 58 negative results.and four confirmed positive, stressing that the government is proactive in tackling the menace,and also appealed to residents on need to desist from stigmatising the patients.
The Commissioner who disclosed that the state has the biggest isolation centre in the country, said arrangements were ongoing to acquired 140,000 hand salnitizers, adding that as at the time of this report, the centre has 24 ventilators, with a call on residents with symptoms of the disease not to hesitate in reporting to hospital without delay.
Penpushing also reports that, Coker while dispelling rumour of coronanavirus patient at State Hospital Ijaiye in Abeokuta, said the patient in question had malaria and was equally treated and discharged, explaining that following the rumour, the government conducted coronavirus test on him, which the result was negative
