Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Matemilola visits Penpushing Media new office, commends editorial policy
The Olowu of Owu Kingdom in Egbaland, Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola on Tuesday visited the new office of Penpushing Media located within the Leme axis of Moshood Abiola Way in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
Penpushing reports that the first-class traditional ruler accompanied by another frontline monarch of Akinale township of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Dr)Femi Ogunleye arrived the headquarters of the media outlet at about 12.00pm and welcomed by the editorial board of the organization.
The founder of Penpushing Media Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji in company of the board members took the royal fathers round the offices, and highlighted the five and half years journey of the establishment which has become a household name in the media industry globally
The Olowu in his remarks expressed satisfaction on the well packaged corporate headquarters of the organization and equally commended its editorial policy, particularly in fighting fake news, as well as genuine position in the area of its corporate social responsibility.
‘I am glad to be a guest of the new office of Penpushing Media. I hope that the move of the new location will also positively impact on their good work. Wishing the organization continued success in their good work’, he emphasized.
Penpushing further reports that he pointed out that the relevance of the media outlet in the media industry is encouraging, and tasked the organization not to derail in its policy, which include adhering strictly to the ethics of the profession.
The monarch, however, observed the negative role of bloggers and citizen journalists, stressing the need for the people to be cautious about their write ups, which on many occasions are known to involve blackmail and falsehood.
Penpushing also reports that Matemilola, noted that it was disturbing that such falsehood spread fast and goes viral, causing damage to the noble profession and the public, hence, the need for the true professionals to rise up to the challenges.
The traditional ruler emphasized that he’s happy to be associated with Penpushing Media, which he noted has continued to add value to the journalism profession, expressing optimism that in due course the name of the organization will be written in gold.
Penpushing further reports that traditional ruler of Akinale, a veteran journalist and forefront lawyer, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye in his brief remarks attested to authenticity of the media organization, adding that it was historical for him to have been part of the visit.
The royal father called on the editorial board and management of Penpushing Media to keep up the good work the media outlet is known for, praying that with the new hope given to journalism by the establishment, it shall be well with the organisation
Penpushing also reports that the founder of the media outlet, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji in his welcome speech explained that one of the objectives of Penpushing Media is to transform journalism practice for better, stressing that the team will not desist in fighting fake news
The founder added that Penpushing Media has been robustly nurtured on the journalistic ideology of adding value to journalism worldwide, by ensuring credible sources of news around the world, recalling that the journey started on July 19, 2016 on a social media platform with 256 members at inception across the globe.
Penpushing reports that he explained that as it progresses, a lecture, which has become a regular project aimed at adding value to the noble profession of journalism, was introduced, stressing that the organization which has become a famous global news dissemination platform, got its certificate of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on June 1, 2017, with the headquarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital
‘Penpushing is indeed set to correct and tackle the menace of fake news which is almost becoming daily occurrence in the world with its greater negative impact in our clime, particularly owing to myriad of online communication channels’, Kayode-Adedeji said.
