Olabisi Onabanjo University Alumni Association Abeokuta Chapter elects Olayinka Olayemi as new chairman
The Olabisi Onabanjo University Alumni Association, Abeokuta Chapter has elected Mrs. Olayinka Olayemi as the new chairman, during election held at Akin Ogunpola Hall of the African Church Cathedral, Ita-Iyalode, Abeokuta.
Penpushing reports that the poll presided over by a former Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Sina Adefolahan and Mrs. Labake Olonode took place on Sunday February, 16 2025, under a conducive atmosphere.
The other elected officials include Otunba Marcus Anthony Gbenga (Vice-Chairman), Mrs. Femi Shopade (Secretary), Mrs. Biola Odubiyi (Assistant Secretary) and Mrs. Bidemi Akisanya(Treasurer).
Penpushing further reports the officers also include Femi Coker (Social/Publicity Secretary), Mr. Adedamola Sunday Adewunmi (Financial Secretary), while immediate Chair is to serve as the Ex-Officio 1 and a retired Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Afis Osolase as Ex-Officio 2
The new chairman took over from Barrister (Chief) Lukman Abiodun Abdullahi, the Otun-Bamofin of Egbaland, and Olayemi before this appointment has served the association as a Social Secretary and Vice-Chair before been elevated to the current status.
Penpushing also reports that Olayemi, who was the immediate Past Vice-Chairman of the association from 2023 graduated from Ogun State University now known as Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye in 1987 with B.Sc Honours, Economics, Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Public Administration in 2008 and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the same institution in 2016.
The association boss retired from the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Headquarters, Abuja as a Director Human Resources Management in 2025, and belong to membership of professional bodies.

The swearing–in of the new officers and the oath of office was conducted by Oluwaseyi Sokoya a Permanent Secretary in the Civil Service of Ogun State, while personalities in attendance include Justice Bamidele Adebayo, Dr, Abiola Tonade a former Bursar of the University, Bishop Solomon Batunde Ojumu of the African Church Cathedral, Alhaji Taoheed Bankole- Principal General Egba Division, Elder Yinka Fashina (Omoluabi) and Comrade Ebun Atinuke amongst other members
Penpushing further reports that Olayemi in her acceptance speech appreciated all the elders and members of the alumni association for giving her and the new team the opportunity to serve, and equally called for the support and cooperation of members towards taking the association to greater heights.
