OGUN WEST FORUM WARNS KASHAMU OVER HATE SPEECH
‘The attention of Ogun West Stakeholders Forum has been drawn to a statement credited to a factional gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Buruji Kashamu, purporting that his decision to contest the governorship of Ogun State was borne out of the inability of leaders of Ogun West to present only one governorship candidate in the forthcoming elections’.
Penpushing further reports that, the forum pointed out that, this statement smacks of unwarranted desperation and deceit aimed at twisting known facts for unmerited political gain, explaining that contrary to Kashamu position the zone has decided on their choice candidate.
‘As a matter of fact, Ogun West elders in consultation with their people have decided on their preferred candidate in the gubernatorial race and have equally made their decision public to all people of the zone and the Ogun State electorate as a whole’.
‘It is indeed difficult to understand why Senator Kashamu who had joined the gubernatorial race several months ago would now claim to be motivated by the absence of a single candidate in Ogun West or any other part of the state for that matter’.
In addition, the issue of multiplicity of candidates is even more manifest in Senator Kashamu’s part of the state than anywhere else. As stakeholders in Ogun West, we hold our elders in high esteem. We aware of the untiring efforts of our leaders and people of the Senatorial District to produce the next governor of our dear state’.
‘While desperate politicians like Kashamu continue to embark on pernicious acts and manoeuvres to feather their withering political nest, they should desist from disparaging leaders and elders of Ogun West and rather join hands with the zone to produce the next governor of our dear state in other to end the entrenched injustice against Ogun West in the political landscape of Ogun State.
