Ogun state traditional ruler, oba fatai akamo offers scholarship to 21 indigent students, donates cash support to polytechnic

The traditional ruler of Itori kingdom located in Ewekoro local government of Ogun State, Oba Fatai Akamo has offered scholarship to twenty-one indigent students of DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori.

Penpushing reports that the gestures was part of activities marking the monarch twenty-one coronation anniversary held at the polytechnic campus, where football competition was also held, as well as essay competition to add glamour to the ceremony.

The royal father at the well-attended ceremony in the same vein donated the sum of N500,000 to the school management to support the running cost of the institution, and equally promised to be available when he is needed for additional support.

Penpushing further reports that Akamo attributed his success on the throne since ascension to God and all his subjects, adding that he would not stop adding value to developmental growth of the town

The traditional ruler who was royally welcome by the management and students of the polytechnic, was described as a symbol of positive development within the community and environs

Penpushing also reports that the football encounter was between Oba Akamo’s soccer team and Olori Barakat Akamo soccer squad which ended in favour of the monarch’s team, following a penalty shoot out 3-2, while the winning team went home with N50,000 cash

The Dean of Students Affairs of the Polytechnic, O.A Odusanya in his remarks pointed out that the reign of the traditional has been a blessing for the institution and the entire Itori community, describing him as a beacon of peace and progress

Penpushing reports that Odusanya in same vein, acknowledged leadership quality of the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Goke Rauf, emphasizing that since he took over leading, the institution has continue to transform to better status

The Rector in his own remarks expressed appreciation to the royal father adding that he has continued to make the institution and the community proud, and prayed for him to continue to excel in the task of ruling the community.

Penpushing further reports that Rauf, however, tasked other individuals and stakeholders to emulate the gestures of the monarch, in the area of supporting education and the polytechnic in particular.

The Rector seized the opportunity of the occasion to thanked Governor Dapo Abiodun for his supportive roles towards the upliftment of the polytechnic into the global recognition, as the students now embraced decency in characters.

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler as part of activities for the coronation anniversary had earlier visited the Stella Obasanjo Children Home, State Hospital Sokenu, Correctional Centre and Sacred Heart Hospital, Abeokuta, where he donated food items and cash to support their needs
