Ogun State Teaching Service Commission charges Principals to uphold ethics of profession

The Chairman of Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu has charged All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, (ANCOPSS), Ogun State Chapter, not to relent in promoting academic excellence in schools across the State.

Penpushing reports that Sanyaolu gave the charge when the confederation led by the President, Mr. Adeniyi Adekoya paid him a visit at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, stressing that it was a clear fact that principals and teachers were the custodian of school system.

The newly appointed chairman of the commission pointed out noting their commitment and dedication as administrators would have a long- term impact on learners, adding that the board under his leadership has robust plans and initiatives that would improve the teaching and learning environment.

Penpushing further reports that Sanyaolu while seeking the support of the body in achieving the policy thrust of the commission, however, promised to look into their requests, as he encouraged both teaching and non-teaching staff to uphold ethics.

‘I encourage members of this body, teaching and non-teaching staff in our secondary schools to continue to uphold the ethics of their professions and be dutiful”, the commission boss emphasised.

Penpushing also reports that he urged the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, (ANCOPSS) to strengthen its partnership with the Old Students’ Associations, towards contributing their quota to the education sector.

The Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi, in her remarks appreciated the body for being a partner in progress, and assured that the commission would leave no stone unturned at ensuring that teachers have their pride of place in the civil service.

Penpushing reports that President of the body while speaking commended the chairman of the commission for his innovation towards sustaining the good work of his predecessor, and equally pleaded with the board to continue prioritising the welfare of the teaching workforce.

The confederation boss stressed need for the commission to provide more infrastructure and renovate the dilapidated structures, as well as make school more secured, reiterating members’ commitment to efficient service delivery, and pledged their support to the new board.

Penpushing further reports that other personalities in attendance include Commissioner I, Hon. Adeola Akintande, Commissioner III, Hon. Majekodunmi Olanrewaju and Commissioner IV, Hon. Ademola Adeleye, Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Akintomiwa Osibodu.
