Ogun state retired heads of service, permanent secretaries set to launch second edition of book on legacy, pride

The Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, Ogun State Chapter is set to launch the second edition of its publication titled ‘Our Legacy, Our Pride – 50 Years of Monumental Achievements in the Ogun State Civil/Public Service. 1976-2026’

Penpushing reports that Publicity Secretary of the association, Otunba Abiodun Awere made this known in a statement adding that the ceremony is scheduled to hold on March 31, 2026 at June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta from 10:00 a.m.

‘This publication is part of activities lined up to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Ogun State. . The Book contains memorable events and land-mark achievements in the State Civil/Public Service between 1976 and 2026’, Awere wrote

Penpushing further reports that he stated the book contain special emphasis on social, economic and infrastructural developments recorded between 2016 and 2026 as well as monumental achievements made under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The statement recalled that the first edition of the book was launched on March 29, 2016 to mark 40th Anniversary of the creation of Ogun State on February 3, 1976, adding that the Governor of the State will be the Chief Guest of Honour.

Penpushing also reports that Awere disclosed that other dignitaries expected at the ceremony are Aremo Chief Olusegun Osoba, a former Governor in the State, as the Chairman. and Sir. Chief Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu, the Odole of Yorubaland and a business tycoon as the Chief Launcher.

The statement stated that the Co-Launcher is Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, adding that also expected is Chief, Alhaji Tajudeen Olasunkanmi Aremu, a Retired Head of Service in Oyo State, who is the Book Reviewer.

Penpushing reports that the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries Ogun State was established in 1999 by a group of distinguished, astute and seasoned Public Service Administrators who saw the necessity for the documentation and preservation of the ethics and traditions of the Civil Service for the present and future generations.

The statement added that the book is also an important historical document on the evolution, rise, developments and the notable achievements of the Ogun State Civil/Public Service in the past five decades.
