
Ogun state lawmakers endorse Tinubu for second term, throw weight behind Governor Abiodun’s next political aspiration
The Ogun State House of Assembly on Wednesday endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027, citing his economic reforms and infrastructural strides across the country as their reasons.
Penpushing reports that the twenty lawmakers made the support declaration at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
The majority leader of the Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Sherif Abiodun, representing Ado Odo/Ota 1, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues reaffirmed their support, pointing out that Tinubu’s leadership has brought significant progress in economic stabilization and national development.
Penpushing further reports that the lawmakers emphasized that their position aligns with the earlier endorsement by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, adding that Tinubu’s administration has recorded notable achievements in fiscal reforms and road construction projects connecting major economic corridors nationwide, which they said demonstrate his commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s economy.

The assemblymen in same vein, endorsed the governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola who they described as an experienced federal lawmaker with a track record of competence, diligence, and dedication to public service.
Penpushing also reports that the lawmakers expressed their support for the next political move of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, after the completion of his tenure, adding that his (Abiodun’s) executive experience and understanding of governance remain valuable assets, emphasizing that his leadership has delivered significant developmental strides in the state.
The lawmakers, equally expressed their commitment to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with pledge of continued support for leaders whose vision and track record align with the aspirations of the people of Ogun State and Nigeria.

Penpushing reports that the lawmakers in attendance included the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi, Majority leader, Hon. Yusuf Sherif, representing Ado Odo/Ota 1, Hon. Wahab Abiodun Egungbohun, representing Yewa North 1 State Constituency, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, representing Ifo 1 State Constituency, Hon. Bisi Oyedele, representing Ipokia State Constituency, Hon. Adegoke, Awoso, representing Yewa North (II) State Constituency, Hon. Jemili Akingbade, representing Imeko Afon State Constituency.
The others include, Chief Whip, Hon. Omolola Bakre, representing Ijebu Ode, Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Tunde Tella, Yusuf Amosun, representing Ewekoro state Constituency, Hon. Salami Fatiu representing Ifo 2, Hon. Odunuga Kaka, representing Ijebu Igbo North, Hon. Soneye Damilola, representing Obafemi Owode, Hon. Lamidi Musefiu, representing Odo Ota 2, Hon. Ayodele Wasiu, representing Abeokuta South (II), Hon. Kunle Sobukanla, representing, representing Ikenne State Constituency
