FORTY- FOUR OGUN COMMUNITIES RAISE ALARM OVER INFLUX OF LAND GRABBERS ON FARMLANDS

He explained that, the farmlands situated on the coastal plain between Lagos and Ogun State axis, which is precisely on the Ejirin-Ijebu-Ibadan Federal Trunk ‘B’ road, remained target of the land speculators, alleging that, a Lieutenant Colonel had being fingered as sponsor of the land speculators

‘The Army Colonel is known to be using some faceless military boys, hoodlums and other notorious elements  to enter and forcefully holding claims to our farmlands .We  are using this medium to call the Nigeria Army, Police and Security Agencies to watch their personnel, some of them have been engaged to intrude and forcefully grab our land’,Lawal emphasized

The indigenes of the affected settlements posited that, if the sponsors of the land speculators have authority on the said farmlands, they should contact court of jurisdiction to address their claims, rather than the criminal approach.

‘We are calling on all necessary authorities, well-meaning Nigerians to save us from land grabbers, sponsored by one Lieutenant Colonel. We call on well-meaning people and authority to prevail on the sponsors of this nefarious act to stop, before the situation degenerated to communal war.

He introduced proverbial explanation to the development, stating that, ‘when a goat is forcefully push to the wall it is bound to introduce counter attack’, and therefore called on Ogun, Lagos and Federal Government to rise up to the task, before it get out of hands.

Penpushing further reports that, Lawal disclosed that, investigation showed that, the landgrabbers are recuited in Ketu town of Lagos State, which shares boundary with the mentioned farmland and communities

‘We equally use this opportunity calling all the concerns that the boundary adjustment agitation since several decades should be revisited. The creation of Lagos State and Ogun State had caused the under-development of the vast landed properties because of the boundaries dispute
