Ogun state head of service charges revenue officers, accountants to exhibit due diligence in the discharge of their statutory duties

The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya has charged revenue officers, especially Accountants in the State Civil Service to always exhibit due diligence in the discharge of their statutory duties.

Penpushing reports that Onasanya made the call while monitoring the conduct of the ongoing years 2023 and 2024 promotion exercise for Executive Officers, General Duties, Accounts, Audits, Revenue, Store Officers and Confidential Secretaries, at the Staff Development Centre, Abeokuta.

The Head of Service pointed out that their job schedules just like any other cadre is very sensitive and financial infractions can mar effective delivery of responsibilities, adding that, their assessment would be based on professional competence on the job, acquittance to work, conduct and ethics, fluency and comportment as well as general questions.

Penpushing further reports that the number one civil servant in the state who alongside his team had attended to various MDAs at the ongoing interview exercise emphasized that the process was strictly merit based and not a walk over.

The Head of Service equally charged them to brace up and align with the various reforms aimed at boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the State, affirming that the contributions of Public Servants were pivotal to sustaining the momentum of progress.

Penpushing also reports that he added that stepping up the ladder of career advancement should impact positively on the administration and policy implementation, just as he acknowledged the fact that, Ogun State’s economy is growing based on strategic planning and implementation of the five pillars of ISEYA Mantra.

The number one Ogun State worker reiterated that, the civil service as the engine room of government must continue to brace up for the various challenges, while appreciating Governor Dapo Abiodun for the various initiatives, aimed at repositioning the service for efficient service delivery.

Penpushing reports that the officials who spoke during an interview which include Messers Ganiu Bakre and Bolarinwa Omojugba, both from the Hospitals Management Board (HMB), Abosede Oloyede from the Slum Regeneration Authority and Cecilia Sowunmi from the Office of the Accountant General commended the seamless process and appreciated the Governor for the opportunity to be promoted to the next level.
