Ogun state government to prosecute DJ Chicken over multiple road crashes
The Ogun State Government has disclosed that it is expediting the prosecution of TikTok Content Creator, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a series of road traffic incidents that have raised public safety concerns.
Penpushing reports that Ministry of Justice made this known in a statement on state government official X handle on Monday and highlighted that at least two of his crashes in recent months were captured on video and are self-evident.
The announcement relates to the incident on November 1, 2025 in Sagamu, Ogun State, where DJ Chicken crashed into two motorcycles, seriously injuring a rider and a female passenger, adding that eyewitnesses said he attempted to leave the scene, provoking the anger of passersby who restrained him.
“While it may be reasonable to allow crash victims get compensation from persons who have driven recklessly and to resolve road traffic collisions as a civil wrong, some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law. Mr Abiodun is one such person’, the statement read
“Mr Abiodun’s heedless return to the wheel with no greater care just three weeks after makes it imperative that the state must intervene to protect the public – especially as there is an organic outcry against his continued driving’, it added
Penpushing further reports that the statement emphasized that DJ Chicken was involved in another road crash on November 23, 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State, narrowly avoiding pedestrians, stressing that the lone car incident almost harmed pedestrians, but for good fortune and the pedestrians’ quick reflexes.
The statement explained that to ensure accountability, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has taken decisive action.
“Accordingly, the Attorney-General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice – Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN – has directed relevant officers to expedite action on the pending crash case from Sagamu for prompt arraignment’, the statement said.
Penpushing also reports that Ogun State Government stated that its commitment to working with law enforcement to protect road users, expressing optimism that working closely with the police will being a positive outcome.
