Ogun state government holds 4th edition of Fishery Tradefair

Penpushing reports that Commissioner for Industry Trade and Investment, Kikelomo Longe made this known at a press conference held at Moshood Abiola International Tradefair Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, boasting that this year edition would be the best compare with past editions.

The commissioner said the theme,”Value Addition as Catalyst for Sustainable Fishery Aquaculture, is  coming at a time where there is a development of a special agro processing zone would give benefit to the people and the agricultural of the state.

Penpushing further reports that  Longe who disclosed that the fair will hold at the Tradefair Complex, expressed appreciation to management of the chambers for their hard work and proactive approach towards the forthcoming fair, adding that it would  help increase brands, teach different funding opportunities and new trends in the industry.

“This year’s fishing fair would be different unlike the previous meant to just invite people to sell their products, beyond that they increase their brand awareness, get to learn about new trends and development in the fishing and aquaculture industry and will have the opportunity to network with other players and participant in the various section of the aquatic chain and value addition”,she said.

“They would learn about different funding opportunity and how to access this sources of capital and finally participants would be able to connect with not just existing customers but prospective customers as well”, Longe emphasised

Penpushing also reports that, the commissioner urged all stakeholders including those without aquatic knowledge to create time to be participants  and learn about potentials that can add to their lives and business.

The President of the Chambers, Mike Akingbade earlier in his speech explained that the fair would be opened from 8am- 6pm daily and is aimed

to showcase products and services while examining the market trends to enlighten those with little or no knowledge of fishery and aquaculture

Penpushing reports that Akingbade pointed out  that the fair will promote made in Nigeria products especially those from the state, stressing that the fair is designed not only for  the small scale, medium but also for the economy growth of the state especially in agriculture.

Meanwhile, representative of  the Ministry for Agriculture, Jamiu Ismail in his contributions explained that the fair would bring about new concept, enhance the economic activities of the state, and equally implored youth to venture into agriculture as it would be a solution to eradicating food insecurity and unemployment in the state
