Ogun state former deputy governor, salimot makanjuola-badru laments loss of imasayi monarch

The former Deputy Governor Ogun State, Alhaja Salimot Makanjuola-Badru has lamented the loss of the traditional ruler of Imasayi town in Yewaland  of the State, Oba Gbadebo Olusola Oni,  stressing that the news of the monarch’s death came as a rude shock

Penpushing reports that, Makanjuola-Badru pointed out that, ‘life is but a pilgrimage of mortals who, after their sojourn on earth, must return unto the Creator’, recalling that he met the royal father in the early 2000’s, who she noticed was passionate about unity of the land.

‘It was a rude shock to receive the news of the demise of  royal father, the Olu of Imasayi, Oba Gbadebo Olusola Oni (Aribio III). I met the vibrant and versatile Kabiyesi in the early 2000s, and he impressed himself upon me as a leader who was uncommonly passionate about the unity and progress of Yewaland and its people’, she stated.

Penpushing further reports that, the former number two citizen of Ogun State said, there was no doubt that, the late traditional ruler’s life and time defines excellent leadership and royal fatherhood’

‘No doubt the late Olu of Imasayi’s life and time defined excellent Leadership and Royal fatherhood. He was a true monarch whose aura welcomed everyone – old and young, irrespective of social status’.

‘He was very close to me personally during my service as Deputy Governor of the state, and superintendent over the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. His invaluable advice, unwavering support and wealth of experience were instrumental in our goal of protecting our culture and traditional legacy for future generations’.

Penpushing also reports that, Makanjuola-Badru pointed out that, the transition of the monarch was unquestionable, but was a  great loss to Imasayi town in Yewaland, as well as the entire State.

‘Although the certainty of transition to the great beyond is unquestionable, Kabiyesi’s is a  loss to Imasayi, Yewaland and Ogun state. His outstanding leadership quality shall forever be a reference point for all. We shall all miss Kabiyesi’s royal counsel and cohesion-laden capacity that has always united us beyond our perceived differences.

‘On behalf of myself and my family, I offer sincere condolence to the immediate family of the departed, all sons and daughters of Imasayi, the Yewa Traditional Council and the entire Yewaland, and the Government and people of Ogun state over the loss of this truly visionary leader’,Makanjuola-Badru emphasised.
