Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, unveils 15th Gateway International Trade Fair 2026

Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) on Tuesday officially announced the commencement of activities for the 15th Gateway International Trade Fair 2026, scheduled to hold from February 6 to 16, 2026.
Penpushing reports that President of the Chamber, Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, made this known at a press conference held at the chambers secretariat located at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
The President said the theme of 2026 edition is “Promoting Businesses through Partnership,” adding that it is being organised in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, and scheduled to hold at the M.K.O. Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
Penpushing further reports that Oshiyemi explained that the annual trade fair has grown into a reliable international business platform that brings together small, medium and large-scale enterprises, government institutions and investors to showcase products and services, promote innovations and explore global market opportunities.
The President pointed out that the trade fair has, since inception, served as a guaranteed market for over one million consumers, adding that the 2026 edition would be more elaborate than previous ones.
“The Gateway International Trade Fair is a melting pot for cross-pollination of ideas among business practitioners, industry players and economic policymakers. This year’s edition will further strengthen partnerships that will drive business growth and economic development,” Oshiyemi said.
Penpushing also reports that he commended the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, for its consistent support towards the success of the trade fair, urging corporate organisations, government agencies, exhibitors and the general public to actively participate in the event.
The President in a separate interaction with journalists, spoke on challenges facing farmers in the country, particularly insecurity and logistics, despite various government interventions such as subsidies, free fertilisers, tractors and access to farmland.
Penpushing reports that he noted that many farmers are running at a loss due to price fluctuations and insecurity, calling on government to act as an off-taker for farm produce to guarantee returns and encourage production.
“If government becomes the off-taker of farm produce, farmers will know their profit even before planting. This will restore confidence and boost agricultural production,” he said.
Penpushing further reports that Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Kehinde Omitogun who represented the ministry, described the Gateway Trade Fair as a strategic economic platform for business promotion, investment attraction and enterprise linkages within and outside Ogun State.
The Permanent Secretary stated that, the theme of the fair aligns with the state’s economic development strategy, stressing that sustainable growth can only be achieved through strong public-private partnerships.
Penpushing also reports that he highlighted key achievements recorded during the 14th edition of the fair, including increased participation by local and international exhibitors, improved business-to-business linkages, enhanced visibility for MSMEs and stronger collaboration between government agencies and the organised private sector.
“These outcomes reaffirm the Trade Fair’s role as a catalyst for economic activity and private-sector-led growth,” he said, adding that the ministry remains committed to supporting OGUNCCIMA to ensure a successful 2026 edition.
Penpushing reports that Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo, represented by Mrs. Osibodu, emphasised the importance of partnerships across the agricultural value chain, from production and processing to packaging and marketing.
The commissioner urged Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) to ensure that the 15th edition surpasses previous ones, while encouraging small, medium and large-scale enterprises to take advantage of the trade fair.
Penpushing further reports that Omotomo highlighted achievements of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security under the current administration, including the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP Agric), which rehabilitated production and processing facilities across the state’s eight farm settlements to boost productivity and farmers’ livelihoods.
