OGUN SCHOOL FEEDING RECORDS INCREASE IN PERFORMANCE ,SAYS OPERATIONS OFFICER

The operations officer stated that, there were various meeting also held with stakeholders with intention of improving service provision on the programme, adding that, “some of such meetings were with Education Officers, Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON) Executives, Cooks, Cold Chain Partners, Aggregators and so on where we came up with decisions that will move the programme forward”

Penpushing further reports that, Osolukoya, also said that deworming exercise was carried out twice in the year, adding that, the exercises were successfully carried out as and recorded  massive awareness before the start date, while, the level of compliance to  was higher than what was recorded in 2018″..

“In the course of the year, deworming exercise was carried out twice. The first was in May, while the second was in November, 2019. The two exercises were successfully carried out as there had been massive creation of awareness before the start date, hence, the level of compliance to the exercise was higher than what was recorded in 2018”.

 “The cooperation of every stakeholder here has earned us the best performing State in the programme. This feat led to some other States Kaduna and Ekiti to come and understudy our operations. I must add that cooperation of every stakeholder here present cannot be overemphasised in our success story,” she said.

Penpushing also reports that the Chief Economic Adviser to the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Okubadejo, in his address, reassured of the Government  continued partnership and commitment in providing enabling atmosphere for successful implementation of the programme.

“At this junction, may I further reassure you of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun commitment to the continued partnership and commitment in providing enabling atmosphere for you as partners towards successful implementation of the agenda of “Building Our Future Together”.

‘We therefore solicit for your continued support, cooperation and, collaboration for the progress of the Home Grown School Feeding Programme in our dear State. I can assure you that you will keep finding in us a worthy partner”

Penpushing  reports that Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), which include;  representatives of Women Consortium of Nigeria (WOCON), Action Health Incorporated (AHI) and Centre for Women’s Health and Information (CEWHIN) also gave status report of monitoring and accountability of the School Feeding Programme in the State.

The Executive Director of Action Health Incorporation (AHI), Mrs. Adenike Eseit earlier in his welcome speech explained the meeting was aimed towards deliberating on how successful the homegrown programme has been in the last one year. 

Penpushing further reports that, the Director pointed out that meeting would also provide stakeholders in the home grown feeding the opportunity to discuss way out of future challenges, and applauded Action Health Incorporation (AHI) Centre for Women’s Health and Information, Women Consortium of Nigeria and the Education Partnership Centre for supporting the State Government in monitoring of the programme in the 1w local Government areas of the State.

The Director stressed that the monitoring intervention of the feeding programme has improved the awareness, community participation, increased the enrolment of pupils and also the service delivery by cooks engaged on the programme.

Meanwhile, the awards of exceptional community monitor were also given to the Action Health Incorporation (AHI), Women Consortium of Nigeria(WOCON), and Women’s Health and Information (CEWHIN) awardees.
