Ogun Police parade 45 suspects
The Ogun State Police Command on Thursday paraded forty -five suspected criminals over alleged various offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, murder , cultism and impersonation among others.
Penpushing reports that, Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson while parading the suspects at Eleweran Police Headquarters in Abeokuta, the State Capital, said the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state.
‘In furtherance to our mission of riding Ogun State of crime and criminality, the Ogun State police Command having decided to take the battle to the door steps of criminals have achieved another milestone in our crime fighting efforts’, he said.
The Commissioner added that, the command has succeeded in smashing many criminal gangs and several arms and ammunition recovered in the process, adding that one of the robbery suspects led a gang in military camouflage uniform to Government Reservation Area(GRA),Ijebu-Ode on August 24, 2019
Penpushing further reports that Ebrimson said , the robbers held the household to ransom and subsequently carted away some of their valuables which include: a Toyota Camry car with registration number AKD 942 GA, one Iphone x and cash sum of N200,000, adding that since then, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad has been trailing the suspects and their efforts paid off on the 25th of February 2020 when they were intercepted at Sagamu interchange and one of the gang members was arrested and some of the robbed items recovered.
The commissioner added that, another feat of the command was recovery of arms and ammunitions while the combined teams of Border patrol and men of Imeko division were on stop and search duty along Idofa Oke Agbede road in Imeko Afon local government area of Ogun State.
Penpushing also reports that, he said an unregistered motorcycle was intercepted, and while the passenger with a bag was being searched, the rider ran away with the motorcycle, and on searching the passenger, 143 live cartridges was discovered in his bag of which he was unable to give satisfactory account of how and where he got the cartridges from.
The police boss while speaking on kidnapping suspects said, upon information received by the Command about the hideout if a gang of kidnappers terrorizing Kara Egua in Yewa north local government area of Ogun State, a team from Special anti-robbery squad was detailed to storm the hideout where two members of the gang were arrested.
