Ogun-Osun River Basin Development gets new managing director

The immediate past Managing Director of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Olufemi Odumosu on Monday bowed out of office on completion of his term and handed over to Engr Babalola Olatunji who is to serve as Acting Managing Director.

Penpushing reports that, the handing over ceremony was held at the establishment headquarters at Alabata which was witnessed by staffer, who commended the tenure of the outgone of administration and applauded the emergence of Olatunji as new leader

The former boss of the institution in his address at the ceremony thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu  for the opportunity to serve his father land.

Penpushing further reports that, Odumosu appreciated God for putting him through for period of four years he led the establishment, as well as given him wisdom to touch and impacted on the lives of the staff and helped develop the institution.

The outgone Managing Director  said his successor, Engr. Olatunji was chosen as the Acting Managing Director in line with the directives of the  Minister for him to hand over to the most senior officer in the authority.

Penpushing also reports that, Odumosu urged Olatunji to see his new position as a sacred call to duty and enjoined him to improve upon the work performance he had put in place and ensure that he works in harmony with management and staff of the authority.

The former Managing Director and  Chief Executive Officer of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority equally implored the management and staff of the  authority to support  his successor in his new assignment.

Penpushing reports that, the Acting Managing Director in his response, said the appointment came to him as a surprise and gave glory to God who has been his pillar, and thanked the Minister of Water Resources for approving his acting appointment, while promising not to let the Ministry and staff of the Authority down.

The Acting Managing Director promised to work assiduously to take the authority to greater heights and solicited for the maximum cooperation of the management and staff in making this a reality.

Penpushing further reports that, climax of the event was the joyous mood that pervaded the environs following the peaceful hand-over while some jubilating staff led by the Acting Managing Director, escorted Odumosu to his vehicle to leave the office

The Chairman National Union of Agriculture Allied Employees,Ogun – Oshun branch, Comrade Owolabi Fakorede has debunked a report credited to the union that the  outgone Managing Director has carted away properties belonging to the authority.
