OGUN NEW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, EDGAL TAKES OVER WITHOUT PREDECESSOR’S HANDOVER NOTE

The new Commissioner  arrived the Ogun State Police Command in Eleweran Headquarters in a black colour Volkswagen Passat with registration number Lagos: EKY 49CW at about 11.00am, and headed straight to the Commissioner’s office.

The personal effects and other official documents which include prepared handover note by his predecessor were said to be in the office, as at the time Edgal resumed office, but did not wait to be handed over to him by his predecessor.

Penpushing further reports that, Edgal  later embarked on series of meeting with Police Management Team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operation Department, Edward A. Ajogun, with directive that all policemen serving in the command should return back to their duty post from wherever they maybe as there is going to be physical head count of all the personnel attached to the Command.

The Commissioner also ordered the cancellation of all forms of leave be it casual or annual leave, except  in emergencies, because all hands must be on deck to checkmate the activities of hoodlums especially during the ember months and yuletide season.

Penpushing also reports that, he promised to deepen and institutionalize the strategy of Community policing and community safety partnership to reduce crime in Ogun State, in line with the objectives of operation puff-Adder.
