OGUN LABOUR PARTY ELECTS PARALEL EXCO

The other party officials present at the congress are former chairman of the party, Simeon Bode and party members with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) acting as monitors.

Delegates from the 20 Local Government Area and 37 Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the State, attended and elected 17 executive officers with Abayomi Arabambi emerging as State Chairman while Jackson Akinyemi emerged the State Secretary.

Similarly, the congress organized by,  Olaposi group, elected 24 officials  into various state executive offices of the party including Chief Abiodun Owolabi (State Chairman), Oginni Olaposi (State secretary), Alhaja Bisola Yakuba(Treasurer)  and  Jelili Lasiko (State youth leader).

However, Arabambi   in his speech after oath of office, said a new dawn has arrived for the party in the state, adding that focus should now be on 2019 general election and urged members to come together and salvage Ogun state from the bondage of debt burden.

He said the party would field credible candidates for elective positions, to win elections, including the governorship seat, stressing that LP is poised to put a stop to further plunging of Ogun State into debt, allegeding that the state debt profile stood at N430b with 65 years repayment tenure, declaring that those who rail – road Ogun into debt, shall be made to account for it.
