OGUN GOVERNMENT PAYS N4.8BILLION TO PENSIONERS
The Permanent Secretary added that Pensioners in the State had been enjoying prompt payment of pensions since the Prince Dapo Abiodun –led administration came on board, while the the House Committee members commended the Bureau for the successes recorded.
Penpushing further reports that the Committee on Public Service Matters led by Hon. Modupe Mujota urged the State Government to ensure payment of outstanding gratuity of retirees for them to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
However, in a related development House Committee on Community Development and Cooperatives has pledged to facilitate the renovation of the Ogun State Social Development Institute, (SDI) Shasha, Iperu, by making the environment conducive for improved educational standard of students.
The Chairman, House Committee on Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Yusuf Amosun stated this during the oversight visit to the Ministry for year 2019 Budget Performance Evaluation at the Ministry’s Conference Hall.
Penpushing also reports that, Amosun said the Committee would ensure facilities were put in place for the Institute to compete favourably with other institutions in the country, charging the management to regularly have meetings with stakeholders involved in the World Bank assisted projects to fast track the completion of the projects.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi in her remarks noted that the Ministry had been reaching out to the grassroots through various Community Cooperatives, Trade Associations, organising basic citizenship and leadership trainings, as well as commencement of Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP).
Penpushing further reports that, Ogunremi however urged the Committee members to look into the issue of funds to carry out capital projects for the second phase of the renovation of the Social Development Institute, Shasha.
