OGUN COMMUNITY DECLARES CONTROVERSIAL MONARCH PERSONA-NON- GRATA

The circular dated July 23, signed by O.A Aderinwale said Ogunsola parading himself will amount to violation of relevant provision of the Chiefs Law, adding any illegality will be dealt with decisively.

“I have been directed to seriously warn you to desist from parading yourself as Baale or use any paraphernalia of the office of Baale, henceforth pending the State Government’s decision on the matter”, Aderinwale emphasized

Penpushing further reports that, the controversial monarch, Segun Ogunsola- Philips  when contacted on mobile phone on Thursday afternoon for his reaction said he was not ready to talk and immediately dropped the call

The Egba Traditional Council, in a similar resolution, on June 21, 2019,signed by Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo declared that “the appointment of Coronets in most areas of the dominance of Egbaland Traditional Council did not follow the precepts of Chieftaincy laws in the State’.

“It also resolved that all the appointments of the Coronets should be rejected in-to-to without exception and the letter of the Chieftaincy laws of Ogun State must be adhered to in considering any Chieftaincy appointment in future” the latter signed by  reads.

Penpushing further reports, the community at a press conference held by  Omola of Imala-land, Oba(Apostle),Moses Olabode who is the community falls in his jurisdiction, alleged than for Ogunsola to abide with the warning he has continue to parade himself as a coronet of the community.

The royal father called on the State Government to call Ogunsola to order, arguing that his conduct can cause crisis in the community and environs, emphasizing that, “In the case of Mr. Segun Ogunsola Philips, he has been warned and ordered by the government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair not to parade himself as Baale of Olorunda in a letter dated 23 July, 2015. How could such a person be among those appointed as Coronet Obas’.

“Mr. Segun Ogunsola Philips is not an indigene of Olorunda, and according to the custom and tradition of our land cannot be a Baale talk less of becoming an Oba.Despite all the above and other representations by the Community to the various organs of government as well as the order from the government suspending the appointment of the 75 Coronet Obas, he is still parading himself as Oba of Olorunda, still having his signpost standing in his front of his house, banners around and taking actions as Oba in total disrespect of the established law and order of the State”, the monarch revealed.

Penpushing also reports, the monarch therefore called on the state government and all appropriate law enforcement agents to curb the excesses of Ogunsola without further delay, adding that, “we have maintained the peace, in spite of all the provocations, ensuring that our people do not react violently to checkmate him.

“We now call on the government and all appropriate law enforcement agents to curb the excess of Mr. Segun Ogunsola Philips without further delay”
