Ogun All Progressives Congress officially receives Allied Peoples Movement defector lawmakers

The All Progressives Congress (APC),Ogun State Chapter Wednesday received former members of the Allied Peoples Movement(APM),who last week defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC)

Penpushing reports that the  seven lawmakers were led by chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), who is the Speaker of House of Assembly. Rt.Hon Kunle Oluomo to the state secretariat of the party located on Moshood Abiols way, Abeokuta.

The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the ruling party in the State Chief Yemi Sanusi in his remarks called on the defectors to see their coming as home return, and advised that they should be conversant with  the rule enshrined in the party constitution.

Penpushing further reports that, the party boss added that as a party, messages would be sent to all wards and local government on their acceptance, stressing that the door of the party is widely open for other interested members to come on board , assuring that there won’t be any form of discrimination, and thereafter, presented the party symbol and constitution to them

“It is our duty to send messages to wards and local governments that everyone must be welcome,  no discrimination, no rancour and where there is problem let us know. Play the game according to the rules so that we can have a united party and the challenges of 2023 will be easy for everybody,” he said.

Penpushing also reports that, the  Speaker of the House of Assembly, in his speech congratulated the party for the achievements, recalling that the party had 15 members from the beginning of the present administration, which has now grew to 22 members out of the 26 assembly members

The speaker disclosed  that despite the obvious that, the defectors belong to opposition party, they had since beginning of this administration being cooperative, adding that their supports had assisted in the development of the state.

Penpushing reports that, the lawmakers presented at the ief  include: Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, Ganiyu Oyedeji, Bolanle Ajayi, Modupe Mujota -Onikepo and Yusuf Amosun

The former Minority leader at the assembly, Hon. Ganiyu Oyedeji while responding on behalf of his colleagues expressed appreciation to  the party for accepting them into the fold, and gave assurance that they would double efforts  in supporting the state government for the overall development of the state.
