Obi mocks Tinubu on visit to St Lucia, says country is size of Ajegunle community in Lagos state
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has mocked President Bola Tinubu on his visit to St Lucia, a country he described as a size of Ajegunle community in Lagos State.
Penpushing reports made the observation during an X space organised by his supporters on Sunday night, adding that it was ridiculous that Tinubu will spend eight nights in the said country, arguing that in two years, he has not spent one night in any state in Nigeria apart from Lagos.
“St Lucia is about the size of the 10th largest city of Nigeria, Ilorin. In two years, Tinubu has not spent one night in any state in Nigeria apart from Lagos, yet he is going to spend eight nights in St Lucia, a place smaller than Ajegunle. Imagine in this country, people are dying in Benue, Borno, (and other parts of Nigeria), and our leaders are commissioning bus stops and holidaying’, he said
Penpushing further reports that Obi, who served as Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014, criticized Tinubu for the recent trip to St. Lucia despite growing insecurity in Nigeria, arguing that when he (Obi) was Governor he never failed to personally visit people who suffered disasters or attacks.
“My past speaks loudly for me. Wherever there was an issue in Anambra State, I was there physically. Anybody who wants to serve should be ready to put even their life on the line for the lives of Nigerians. Nobody abroad takes you seriously if you don’t have a stable government,” he said.
Penpushing also reports that, findings showed that Saint Lucia is a country, an island nation in the Caribbean Sea and is a member of the Commonwealth, gained independence from the United Kingdom on February 22, 1979.

Penpushing reports that the official language is English Saint Lucian Creole French (Kwéyòl), which is a French-based Creole is spoken by 95% of the people, while about 70% of the people are Roman Catholic.
The profile added that Saint Lucia is the only country in the world to be named after a woman, the volcanic island of Saint Lucia is more mountainous than many other Caribbean islands, while the highest point is Mount Gimie, at 950 metres (3,120 ft) above sea level.
Penpushing further reports that two other mountains, the Pitons, form the island’s most famous landmark, they are between Soufrière and Choiseul on the western side of the island, and Saint Lucia is also one of the few islands in the world that has a drive-in volcano, and famous for clear seas and sandy beaches.
