Obasanjo leads old students of Baptist Boys High School on 18 kilometers walk
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday led current and old students of Baptist Boys High School (BBHS) Abeokuta on a 18 kilometres walk around the township of Abeokuta as part of the centenary celebrations of the school.
Penpushing reports that Obasanjo who was joined by the leadership of the old boys association, led by the National President, Prof. Kayode Oyesiku and large numbers of the current students entertained residents, motorists and passers-by on the walk.
The residents and enthusiasts in their hundreds echoed and praised Obasanjo’s names for his prowess, energy and endurance to embark on the walk along
Oke Egunya, Igbore, Oke Igbein, Isale Ake, Adatan, Kugba Road and Omida
despite his age.
Penpushing further reports that among aged who played host to Obasanjo and his team, were the Olu Ibara of Ibara, Oba Jacob Omolade, former Finance Minister, Onolapo Soleye and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo. It was at the visit to the Palace of Alake.
The President of old students of the College speaking with journalists after the visit to Alake of Egbaland, disclosed that the walk covered 18 kilometers stretch when added together, as he commended the former school boys for spirit behind the centenary anniversary activities
