Obasanjo leads farmers in partnering with Nigerian government towards revival of agricultural sector

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is to lead Nigerian farmers to partner with the Federal Government on revival of future of Agricultural sector, and as one of the major players in agricultural mechanization industry.

Penpushing reports that, this was disclosed at a press conference on Tuesday, to launch maiden convergence of global key players in the Agricultural Mechanization industry, ahead of exhibition scheduled to hold between 16th-18th February,  2022 in Abeokuta.

The Managing Director of HB Limited, initiator of the exhibition, Pastor Paul Helphzah at the press conference held at Chambers of Complex hall in Abeokuta, said Obasanjo is to deliver lecture during the conference, having agreed to fully participate in the three- day exhibition/conference.

Penpushing further reports tha, Helphzah explained that the exhibition with the theme, ’Redefining Agricultural Mechanization to Enhance Food Security and Boost Agribusiness’ is in collaboration with World Bank, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and 36 States Ministries of Agriculture among others

The company boss pointed out that, without a genuine discovery of Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization Service, well designed to be suitable for agricultural sector, the continued importation of foods and raw material for industrial uses will persist and create more paralysis to the economy of the country.

Penpushing also reports that, he noted that the international development partners are not successful with their various support and international programmes of agriculture because the implementation lacks the engagement of the major driver, mechanization

‘Nigerians have continuously  and unconsciously enriched the businesses of other nations and their farmers by importing much  of her food and agricultural raw materials into the country, while the aged and ageing farmers are left as peasant farmers in their localities’, he stated

The Chief Executive Officer  explained that, the exhibition is a top-flight and pioneer hybrid agricultural  mechanization event in Africa with a high-caliber technical programme that highlights solutions towards an emerging market, adding that it will showcase heavy and light agricultural mechanization equipment manufacturers, suppliers and financiers and support the Federal Government’s efforts in boosting food security

‘It is designed to connect Equipment Manufacturers(EM’s),Equipment Vendors(EV”s), Mechanization Services Provider(MSP), Financial Institutions(FI’s),Policy Makers, Key Government Officials and all stakeholders in the Agribusiness Value Chain’

‘It is  expected to create a unique platform for global key players in the Agricultural Mechanization Space to collaborate and deliver solutions that will help leverage technology, network market, share best practice and attract structured and innovative financing for Agribusiness  in Nigeria’

Penpushing reports that, Helphzah emphasized that, the exhibition will help to unveil the resilience and commercialization potentials of Nigeria agricultural mechanization initiatives for the enhanced food security drive of the government
