
Oba Adedapo Tejuoso celebrates 88th birthday, preaches global peace
The foremost traditional ruler of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso on Thursday, February 19, 2026 rolled out drums alongside his family members in celebrating his 88th birthday ceremony.
Penpushing reports that the event held at premises of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital attracted presence of dignitaries across Nigeria and beyond.
The Osile-Oke Ona accompanied by his three Oloris, children and grandchildren, as well as Oke-Ona chiefs, was throughout the well-organized ceremony beaming with smiles and appreciating God for his life.

Penpushing further reports that the order of events include call to worship, praises, hymns, prayers for the celebrant by African Church, Oke-Ona, Egbaland, cathedral choir ministration, benediction and goodwill messages among others.
The gospel artistes at the ceremony added values with number of them which include the author and founder of Ayewa music, Pastor Joseph Adebayo Adelakun, widely known as Baba Ayewa and Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, renowned Juju music legend among others.
Penpushing also reports that a multi-million-naira birthday cake featured prominently at the event, as well as entertainment of the guests, with many of the dignitaries joining the royal father for birthday dance.
The first-class traditional ruler in a statement marking the birthday said his deepest desire in not monuments of stone, but memories of progress and peace, stressing that one legacy he long to be cherish for is that he uses his God given voice, position and influence to unite the body of Christ

‘Unity is pleasant to God. Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. Unity attracts His blessing. Unity secures the future. Unity is strength. May God grant us wisdom, humility, and grace to walk the talk divinely together and very much above self’, he emphasised
Penpushing reports that Tejuoso explained that as a monarch he has learned that a divided kigdom cannot stand, stating that leadership carries responsibility, pointing out that when leaders quarrel, the flock scatters
The royal father emphasized that when leaders reconcile, the people find peace, adding that overtime, history has taught him that whenever the church embraced unity, it flourished, warning that where unity weakened, progress slowed and influence diminished
