NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATION SETS TO HOLD ROUNDTABLE ON DISABILITY, ELDERLY MATTERS
The Project Director in the letter of invitation to Penpushing said the theme of the roundtable is; “Inclusive Ogun State: Roundtable on Disability and the Elderly Matters”, adding that, the area of focus in Ogun State is to facilitate the two communities of people in the public life of the State.
“While disability maybe an unusual development in the life of an individual that may and may not happen, old age or becoming elderly is a natural phenomenon that all of us look forward to. Both deserve planned and programmatic care and support. The care and support touches all of us’.
“It is this light that we are organising a one-day roundtable to bring every critical stakeholder in the public, private, traditional, civil, civic and religious sectors of Ogun State together towards examining collaborative, comprehensive, and concerted ways of helping Ogun State to achieve this objective” he explained.
The invitation explained that , expected results from the roundtable are; mobilisation of efforts towards achieving the smooth passage of the law that will establish the Ogun State Board for Disability Matters and the Elderly, to see to the emergence of the Board and its becoming functional within the lifespan of the present government and to spur the critical stakeholder in the sector into becoming a self-supporting and cooperative group.
Penpushing also reports that among dignitaries expected to speak at the event are the; Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba (Dr) Michael Adedotun Gbadebo and the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, with Penpushing Media as participant.
