No governorship aspirant can be a threat to me ahead of 2027 race, says Iyabo Obasanjo
The Governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general elections, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo has declared that non of her colleagues in the race can be a threat to her ambition.
Penpushing reports that Obasanjo made the declaration and clarification on Tuesday while featuring on a live radio programme in Abeokuta, stressing that she is not a novice in the country politics
The daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo explained that she had been involved in politics for decades, hence, she could not be seen as paper weight, emphasizing that, she is bold enough to be relevant, contest and effective in politics.
Penpushing further reports that she expressed optimism and confidence that luck with support of God and All Progressives Congress (APC) is on her side to be the first female elected Governor in the country.
The first female governorship aspirant to announce her ambition in Ogun State ahead of the next political dispensation explained that her experiences as former Commissioner and having served as Senator were enough political advantage which confirmed her competence to run the race.
Penpushing also reports that Obasanjo stated that her emergence into the race and being eventually elected as Governor will pave way for more women for active participation in governance across the country
The Egba born Professor who emphasized that she is not a green horn in politics and politicking stated that she was encouraged by her teeming supporters to join the governorship race, adding that her previous performances as commissioner and senator were responsible for been called to come and serve as governor by the people
