Nigerian Theatre Practitioners set to hold world class conference
The Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) is set for a world class Conference of Nigerian Arts and Films (CONANF), with participations of 5,000 membership across the globe.
Penpushing reports that, the Chairman Planning Committee, Abiodun Olanrewaju made this known on Tuesday at a press conference held, ahead of the 4 day events, scheduled to hold in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
The Committee boss, who doubles as Vice President of the association, said the conference which is a unique convocation scheduled to hold between 15-18 December, 2021 is with theme, ‘Films As a Tangible Asset’ is aimed at creating exposure for budding talents as well as promoting creativity.
‘CONAF is a unique convocation of all stakeholders within the theatre and film industry to celebrate excellence, hardwork and professionalism. It is a conference aimed at creating exposure for budding talent as well as promoting creativity’, Olanrewaju said.
Penpushing further reports that, the committee chairman, accompanied by President of the association, Bolaji Amusan, popularly called ‘Mr Latin’, as well as Omooba Segun Adewale, Consultant for the project, and other national officers of the theatre body, said the forthcoming event is the 5th edition.
The Vice President added that, the ceremony is a segmented and eclectic programme of multiple events, which is always a 4-day of multifaceted activities, and has three major parts, namely cultural parade, drama competition, film exhibitions, investiture, galanite, awards, induction of diamond members and annual general meeting
Penpushing also reports that, he pointed out that since the association desired the revival of culture and dying values, the conference target is to encourage quality productions by promoting creativity and originality.
‘It will also help to discover budding talents and create opportunities for constructive engagements and self-employment. In the course of this convocation, we shall celebrate our partners in progress to the world, their contributions to the development of creative industry in Nigeria’, Olanrewaju emphasised
Penpushing reports that, the chairman explained that the conference will begin with a colorful ceremony where all celebrities in the thearter industry shall appear and identify with their state chapters,
‘Since Nigeria is known for her cultural diversity and her culture is shaped by her multiple ethnic group, this cultural exhibitions shall be a contrived ensemble of actors, dancers, chanters, drummers and so on from across all ethnic groups where TAMPAN exist to dramatize basic cultural values of our Nigeria’
Penpushing reports that, Olanrewaju disclosed that an online registration platform has been provided strictly for members for attendance, adding that the platform is link to website www.tampan.org
The chairman declared that, the conference will be held under strict guidelines and protocols of coronavirus, and will take place both at ParkIn Hotels and events centre of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta
