NIGERIAN STUDENTS THREATEN TO EMBARK ON SOLIDARITY PROTEST IN SUPPORT OF STRIKING VARSITY LECTURERS
He pointed out that, it has become necessary for the Federal Government to immediately implement the agreement reach with the union in October, 2017, with major component being funding the revitalization of the universities among others.
‘We will not fold our arms and allow our institutions to be shut for months again, because of Federal Government insensitivity and lackadaisical approach towards education at all level in Nigeria’ the students’ body said.
The union also noted that, majority of the wards of those whose immediate responsibility is to ensure adequate funding of education in Nigeria, are schooling in choice universities abroad and they don’t bother even if our institutions are close for decades.
Penpushing further reports that,the association seized the opportunity in calling on the management of West African Examination Council, WAEC, to probe controversies surrounding the release of attestation certificate to President Muhammed Buhari.
‘It is amazing that Baba had B3 in History in the WAEC result he presented during the 2015 general election, but he had A1 in 2018, he wrote Mathematics in 2015, but in the attestation issued in 2018, Mathematics was not inclusive. This is nothing but fraud that must be investigated and culprits must be brought to book’
