NIGERIAN STUDENTS CALLS FOR ADEQUATE SUBVENTION FOR EMMANUEL ALAYANDE COLLEGE

Speaking to journalists, the students’ leader, Moronkola Teslim Abiola said that the aim of the protest was to appeal to the Oyo State Government to do the needful for the College to resume with immediate effect

“Oyo State Government claimed that they had paid 70% subvention fund to tertiary institutions to supplement the salaries and arrears of the institution staff and workers, but it is unfortunate that the Oyo State Government has failed to implement it” ,he noted

He added that since the aim of the subvention fund given to the institutions by the State Government is yet to be achieve, the authority need to do more so that the school can resume for its academic activities

“We are coming back in seven days time if the Government fail to listen to our plight, our coming back again will not be as peaceful one compare with the one we did today”, the protesting students declared

Penpushing further reports that, the students leader, however, appealed to the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi to find a lasting solution to the strike embark upon by the institution
