Nigerian recognized as cybersecurity woman of the world
A Nigerian, Confidence Staveley has been recognized as Africa’s most celebrated female Cybersecurity leader, advocated and talent developer globally at an event held in Ardoe Castle in Aberdeen United Kingdom.
Penpushing reports that the awardee who received global cybersecurity woman of year 2023 is known to have achieved numerous professional certifications and industry recognitions, while she is an official member of the Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs, and technology executives.
The Nigerian woman has been recognized as Cybersecurity Woman of the Year Award in 2021 and 2022, International Security Journal 2023 Influencer, Top Cyber News 40 under 40 in Cybersecurity, LinkedIn Top Voice for Gender Inclusion, Top 50 women in Cybersecurity Africa among others
Penpushing further reports that Staveley is an alumnus of some of the most prestigious fellowships across the world such as the 2021 Obama, foundation on African leaders, International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP).
The awardee has spoken at over 120 conferences, a testament to her global thought leadership and influence, and she is the Founder and Executive Director of CyberSafe Foundation, a leading non-Governmental Organisation on dedicated to improving inclusive and safe digital access in Africa.
Penpushing also reports Staveley speaking at the inaugural award ceremony as Cybersecurity Woman of the World Award Winner said the recognition was humbling, adding that she is grateful to have been chosen
‘Last night, in the beautiful Ardoe Castle in Aberdeen, I was announced the inaugural Cybersecurity Woman of the World Award winner! This recognition is truly humbling, and I am grateful to have been chosen from such an incredible group of talented women’, she said.
‘160 women’s organizations across the world nominated awardees for this honour. Out of the 700 nominees, I became a top 20 finalist and finally the winner. I’m truly soaking it all in. I want to say a big thank you to God, my family, the entire United Cybersecurity Alliance, Judges and selection committee, OSP Cyber Academy, the Royal Marines and all the partners that made this event possible’, the awardee stated
‘It was a mind-blowing experience! I am particularly grateful to know women such as Carmen Marsh who have constantly shown what it means when we say “women supporting women”, Staveley emphasized.
Penpushing reports that she thanked her team at CyberSafe Foundation and the entire village of colleagues, partners, donors, volunteers, facilitators who supported and created the magic that make the programs exceptional.
