Nigerian Nollywood veteran, Dele Odule set to excite world with stage performance

The renowned Nigerian Nollywood veteran, Dele Odule has added another impressive dimension to drama performance as he is set to launch maiden edition of annual stage performances tagged ‘Naija Dramatainment Exra’

Penpushing reports that the first edition will involve participation of crème-de-la-crème of the Nigerian showbiz and film industry, scheduled to hold on second day of Ed-El-Kabir(Ileya) festival at ancient town of , Ago Iwoye in Ogun State

The presentation is designed to revive and sustain live performances of different performing arts (songs, drama, dance), comedies, skits, music and the like Presentations and powered by WOSAM Arena.

Penpushing further reports that Odule explained that the main motive is to resuscitate stage performances known with fathers of thearte in the country which include late Hubert Ogunde, Moses Olaiya (Baba Sala), Akin Ogungbe, Awada Kerikeri among others.

Penpushing also reports that the presentation has been designed to be a great improvement of the stage performances of the olden days, which will be replica of Broadway show in New York where artists of different callings are given opportunities to display their artistic dexterity.

The high point of the event is the command performance of Folumo, a socio-political satire of the Nigerian state, written by Dele Odule and directed by Yomi Duro-Ladipo, will feature Nollywood superstars which include Lateef Adedimeji, Peju Ogunmola and Ibrahim Chatta.

Penpushing reports that other theater gurus are  Dele Odule, Taiwo Ibikunle, Dayo Amusa, Don Richards, Taofeek Adewale (Digboluja), Tajudeen Oyewole (Abija), Yomi Olorunlaye, Tubosun Odunsi, Ayo Ogunsina (Papalolo).

The production will engage  over 80 other cast, while also expected to perform include Ayo Adewole (Woli Agba), Udom Mariam, Remote, while side attraction of the event is magic perfomance, to be performed by Zitto Peller, scion of late Professor Peller and his sister, Nike Peller.

Penpushing further reports that the coordinator of the programme, Gbemi Faleti, explained that the maiden edition is aimed to set the ball rolling for an annual event that will soon become a tradition, stressing that the coming edition is just an icing on the cake.

The coordinator said the influence of Odule in the theatre world has attracted participation of number of Nollywood actors who have expressed their willingness to be part of the event, which is believe will also added to their uplifment in the industry.

Penpushing also reports that the initiator of the project, Odule is known to have produced remarkable stage plays such as Lanke Omu, Ojukelekun and Isokan which was produced in December 2022 to mark the annual Oru People’s Day.
