Nigerian Nollywood veteran, Dele Odule revives, set to take stage drama abroad
The renowned Nigerian Nollywood veteran, Dele Odule has revived the stage drama performances tagged ‘Naija Dramatainment Exra’, adding that arrangements are also in top gear to export the show across the globe.
Penpushing reports that the revival and relaunch of the stage drama was held on Thursday in Ago-Iwoye town, which featured number of Nigerian actors, as well as side attraction which include magic performance by late Professor Peller’s son Zitto and Nike daughter
The ceremony attracted number of guests and entertainment lovers who on watching the stage play remembered the good old days of the drama which was introduced by the late veteran Hubert Ogunde, as well as others including Moses Olaiya Adejumo, popularly called Baba Sala and Pa Ogunmola among others
Penpushing also reports that notable arties who perfumed include; Peju Ogunmola,Zitto Peller,Udu Mariam,Woli Agba,Femi Adebayo,Lateef Adedimeji,Ibrahim Chatta,Adewae Taofeek,Kemi Afolabi, Taiwo Ibikunle, Ayo Ogunsina(Papilolo) and Yomi Olorunleye among others
The command performance tagged ‘Folumo’, is a socio-political satire of the Nigerian state, written by Dele Odule and directed by Yomi Duro-Ladipo, with the maiden edition aimed to set the ball rolling for an annual event that will soon become a tradition.
Penpushing reports that Odule who is known to have produced remarkable stage plays such as Lanke Omu, Ojukelekun and Isokan which was produced in December 2022 to mark the annual Oru People’s Day, assured that the stage drama has come to stay
The veteran Nollywood actor disclosed that plan to export the stage drama performance is underway, adding that the maiden edition was designed to resuscitate it, stressing that it is going to be an annual event
