Nigerian Navy Secondary School turns out 200 graduates

The Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital on Saturday turned out 200 graduates, with a call on them to see themselves as good ambassadors of the institution as they embarked on another phase of life.

Penpushing reports that the passing out parade of the 2020/2021 academic session graduands was held at the college premises located at Onikoko, in Abeokuta, with number of dignitaries, which include parents and guardians in attendance.

The ceremony of the day include: march past by the graduands, presentation of awards to deserving students, launching of student music album, key note address by special guest of honour, farewell speech by the Flag Officer Commanding West and group photograph.

Penpushing further reports that, the Special Guest of Honour, Brigadier A.A Adekoya, the Brigade Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta in his speech congratulated the students for coming out in flying colours.

The army boss told the graduands that, they should always have at the back of their minds that, they have been trained in learning and character, hence need for them to see the importance of passing through the school

‘You have been trained in learning and character, and I believe that, that is why you are passing out today, as students you have been moulded, train  and going out to represent yourself, be it in university, Nigerian Defence Academy or any choice of tertiary institution’, Adekoya stated

‘The training you have acquired makes you different from civilians. I am happy with your parade. I see cadet you. I encourage you to go higher to higher institution within and outside Nigeria. The training you have had, can take you to battle, you have been trained and this is in your blood’, he emphasised.

Penpushing also reports that, the Flag Officer Commanding West, Rear Admrial Jason Gbassa in his remarks pointed out that having spent six years in the college, the graudands have shown to be faithful and loyal

‘We have inculcated discipline in you and we are proud of you. As you move forward you are going to face challenges of life, life is not full of roses. Come up with integrity, stand strong when there are challenges’ Gbassa told the graduates.

Penpushing reports that, the Naval boss  told the graduands to put their trust in God, rather than humanbeing, stressing that it would be risky putting trust on humanbeing, adding that the college and parents are putting trust in them to make them proud in their various future careers.

‘Set goal for yourself, don’t lose contact with God. The path is rough, but put your trust in God and not man. There are future President, Governors, Senators in you. I am counting on you, your parents are counting on you, the country is counting on you, the school is counting on you,  be our good ambassadors’, he emphasised.

Penpushing further reports that, at the end of the passing out parade old students association of the school engaged the graduands on heart to heart discussions, as a way to encourage them ahead of their future aspirations and ambition.

The dignitaries at the events include: Brigadier A.A Adekoya(Brigade Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta), Edward Ajogun(Ogun State Commissioner of Police),Umar Ahmed(Ogun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps)and Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(Founder Penpushing Media)

Penpushing also reports that, others are: Babatunde Akinbiyi(Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance Corps), Mrs Margaret Umana(Deputy Controller of Customs),  Director of State Security Service, and Commandant, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps) ,Kunle Somorin(Chief Press Secretary to Ogun State Governor) and Engr Wale Yusuf among others.
