Nigerian Government gives out another round of debit cards to 6, 000 Ogun state residents

The Nigerian Government has given out another round of debit cards distributed to six thousand households in Ogun State, aimed to cushion the economic effect and alleviate poverty across the nation.

Penpushing reports that the exercise was held in Sgamau local government area of the state to   again strengthened President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope humanitarian programme

The State Programme Manager, (SPM) Mr. Damilola Owoojuona speaking with journalists during the Debit Cards Distribution exercise explained that the exercise was in phases, clarifying that the ongoing debit cards distribution exercise was meant for unbanked beneficiaries across the State.

Penpushing further reports that he added that the gesture, under the Household Prosperity and Empowerment (HoPE) Cash Transfer Programme, aimed at creating direct impact and financial support to various households in the country, admonished those captured in the National Social Register to be hopeful as the programme ran in phases.

The beneficiaries Mrs. Kassim Dayo, Mrs. Onyeke Jane and Mr. Ajayi Sikiru on behalf of other beneficiaries testified that the programme was reliable, laudable as its operations was free and fair with no political and religious bias in any way.

Penpushing also reports that similarly in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area, another beneficiary, Mrs. Ogunseye Rebecca, expressed appreciation to both federal and state governments for bringing succour to the poor and vulnerable population in the society, adding that the gesture received would go a long in supporting her trading.

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that between the months of November and December 2025, not less than 23,000 residents of Ogun State benefitted from the initiative among other various distributions since its inception of the programme.
